Styledev is my personal portfolio site. A listing of all my work that I consider my best. You will find work from my days as just a web designer to my latest projects which uses Ruby on Rails to make the sites interactive. Below I have included some pictures of the administration area so you get to see all of Styledev.com
Design Aspect:
- Many Artist's Portfolio Sites
Looking at many portfolio sites I found that most people either went with a very simple or a very complex solution. Wanting my work to stand out more than my site I decided on simple, as you can tell. The logo I designed myself and the font I used for the name is Lucida Blackletter.
Code Aspect:
I gave myself two weeks to code the entire site. I have learned a few things like how to attach files and how to build a better user registration and authentication system. I used Shadowbox (lightbox) to display my new and edit functions for all models along with show pages for: Design Tools, Coding Tools, Features, and Plugins. All in all the back-end of the site is pretty robust for a first version.
What I want to add...
I have two sites I maintain for other people and with the registration system in place I am going to build out a maintenance request form and invoicing area in a members section. I also want to add a blog to this site so that I can make posts about this and that.
